If you get vision insurance, you will not be able to get all three. Usually, it will cover glasses once every 2 years-sometimes you can get coverage for new lenses if your vision changes a lot in between that time. Contacts are more restrictive and colored, you would have to pay for the difference between them and clear-if contacts are covered at all.
Best to see if you can get discounts for them-Sams Club, Costco and Lenscrafter's all have good discounts. AAA offers discounts with lenscrafters. If you want contacts, you can buy those if you have the prescription much cheaper on-line through companies like 1800contacts. |

Vision insurance is a joke and you WOULD NOT necessarily save anything. The discounts insurance give you are off retail. You can negotiate better on your own. For contacts I use 1-800-Contacts. |

Insurance will not pay for contact lens exams and I don't think they pay much if at all for contact lenses. If you don't have insurance, sometimes you can get a discount. |

OK, well, vision insurance only pays out some towards these, and there are waiting periods, with private vision insurance. In other words, it's not going to pay out more than it costs, so you're probably best off just paying out of pocket. |
