I lost both my jobs as a result of this, along with a 2 month gap of unemployment. My back, which I had surgey on in 2001, had been fine but now feels the same way it did prior to surgery. Im on my way to my last chiropractor visit, and my back progress has just gotten worse over time. I have an attorney, but I don't feel they're really worried about me. Any help from my fellow yahooligans would be great.

I was involved in an accident and since I am a licensed insurance agent I new the processes that the claims staff was going to take. The wreck I was in was really bad like yours, the other persons fault. I decided not to hire an attorney because I wanted all the money for myself. After presenting my documentation for loss wages medical bills etc, they offered me $8,000. I laughed at them and demanded $375,000. They gave me $264,000. My injuries consisted of scratches from the airbags and muscle pains. The other party died. The insurance company was not acting properly and when I pointed out their mistakes they were quick to settle at high amounts!!! Research your stuff, and get yourself a new attorney that knows what they are talking about. Call you insurance agent and see if they can speak to claims advocate ( they should have one) and get some info on what your damages for your Bodily injury are worth. |

you need to ask for enough to cover all medical expenses, lawyers fees and then throw on an extra 10 or 15 for pain and suffering. honestly.. this probably wont' be enough, but at least you'll get something that will help you through all that you've been through. I got a settlement for 12 thousand from an uninsured motorist accident. after medical bills, lawyers fees and all that, i was left with about 5 grand. and it went fast. |

If u have the proper attorney u will not have a problem u can always change and get an attorney skilled in accident cases. You have to be reimbursed for your vehicle, lost of wages, damage to your body and possibly future disability..U: will be offered a settlement but do not accept it without consultation with your doctors and the attorney..I do not know your location but legal costs will about 1/3rd of your settlelment..Just remember your back can be troublesome for the rest of your life.. |

If you have a lawyer it is up to their negotiations. Consider the cap of the offenders policy, and remember the lawyer gets 1/3 PLUS expenses.... |

With work I see a lot of third party and workers compensation cases come through. Bottom line, I think you should ask for compensation for your 2 months of unemployment, any loss of wage associated with another job you now have, and medical expenses now and future for your back. What you receive depends on how strong your case is and how strong your attorney will work for you with the courts. If you don't feel you're being duly represented then seek an attorney elsewhere. First of all go hire an attorney. A good one who is Board Certified. Quit seeing chiroprators. The are jokes in the legal world. Go see a good orthopedic surgeonand see what you have. You need a good lawyer and fast. |
