I lost my engagement ring at my house. It slipped off my finger while I was showering and went down the drain. My personal property protection states "reimbursement provision" and that "all peril deductible applies." Does this mean my I'm covered? |

No, it doesn't.
You have one or two deductibles - the deductible you have to look at, it's telling you, is the "all peril" deductible (as opposed to the wind deductible, or the theft deductible.
But to find out if your ring is covered, look at "perils insured against" under the contents. MOST policies don't cover "oops I lost it" or "oops it went down the drain" unless you have the ring "scheduled" on the policy, and pay an extra premium for it. |

It depends on the exclusions of your policy. Typically, lost jewelry is not covered unless you have a rider on your policy for the jewelry. Even if it is covered, you may not get the full value of the ring. Most policies have a set limit for the most the insurance company will pay out on jewelry. You might as well file the claim to find out. |

Yes. You should be. Your insurance company may argue that you should have had special jewelry insurance, but jewelry is almost always covered under regular household insurance unless it is like a $50,000 piece. |

It should be covered, but if you haven't paid your deductible yet this year, you'll have to pay whatever that amount is, then they should reimburse the rest. |
