Most carriers offer multiple policy discounts, and for the convenience even if the combined quotes from another carrier are equal or a few dollars lower, it makes sense to keep it in one spot. Also sometimes carriers offer Longevity discounts, which is a discount to staying with them. It never hurts to shop it, and let your agent know your shopping it you never know what they might be able to do for you... |

Yes and no! If you insure both. They will give a percentage off of your bill. But another company might be cheaper than the percentage that they are taking off. Get quotes on both from several companies before settling on using the same company. |

Most companies will offer a home and auto discount. The discount can vary between companies. A bad driving record can sometimes effect those discounts in negative ways. Some companies will not allow the discount with tickets or too many claims on your record.
Always make sure that you are getting the best discount savailable on your policies. Sometimes the home/auto discount can be better than say a claim free discount or driving school discount - but your insurance company won't tell you that. Less commission for them.
You should also look into discounts with life insurance. Most companies will offer a discount with that as well. |

They generally offer the multi-line discount, so if you assume that their rates are competitive for both home and auto, then yes.
However, that might be a big assumption. Get quotes from lot's of companies for both. |

Most companies now offer a multi-policy discount. This can save you money and time. Some companies only write auto or homeowners. Your best bet is to get multi-policy quotes from several local agents. |

Sometimes. You do get extra discounts when both the car and house are with the same company, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the overall package is cheaper.
You'll have to call around and get some quotes, both ways. |
