If you have passion for the products and know how to target the right customer at the right time with the right presentation, you'll have no problem. You will need to network and advertise as though it's your own business. Work smart, not hard. There are people out there that need iinsurance but unless you find each other, you don't have the sale and they don't have the coverage. Don't waste your time trying to sell to single people or to the poor... concentrate on those who want and need the product and also upsell to other insurance needs like rental insurance, gap insurance, umbrella insurance, etc. Make yourself a one-stop shop with familiarity in other estate needs like wills and trusts, retirement savings plans, etc. Your experience and credibility will bring you more clients than you would lose by selling to those not interested in your product line.

Salesmen are made -not born a salesman. Get with a company with a good training program-min. 3 months. Life insurance companies usually prefer to hire people with no previous experience so they can train you their way. It is a good idea to get with a company that also specializes in investments such as variable annuities and mutual funds to be able to offer clients well rounded security for the future. This would require being NASD licensed along wih your Ins. Producer's license
