If the policy has a cash surrender value, that amount would be counted toward the asset limit and could eventually make you ineligible. A policy that is for death benefits only (funeral expenses) is not counted though. |

There is no reason to not have life insurance. In fact as a single parent, it's almost a necessity. Medicaid is not related to one's personal life insurance to my knowledge. |

Yes, though it may be prohibitively expensive. Hopefully, they are working, and so they should talk to their work about whether a life insurance benefit is offered - it will be much, much cheaper that way. They could also ask their Medicaid worker if he/she knows of any low-income life insurance programs. |

Yes, it is possible but going to be expensive. Check out the internet (google) for high risk life insurance rate quotes and then check out the reputations of those companies from independent websites that rate the companies. Get references!!! |
