You should apply for Medi-Cal, It is the state run insurance. If you get your medical records for you condition (all hospital stays, procedures, medications etc). You could qualify for it, I get 100% coverage and 100% medication coverage.
If this doesn't work, I had a business partner from Germany, and he got his free health care extended to the U.S some how...look into that.
If you have to buy personal insurance, look to see if your college has a program, it will most likely have lower premiums than just personal insurance if you can get it. |

Your best bet is to find a job that offers health benefits and get on there. There is rarely individual underwriting or proof of insurability required for large group health insurance policies. So yes, you could get coverage, but not on your own, it would need to be through a large group policy.
Your school may also offer a group policy that you could sign up for, again without proving insurability. You should check with your school. |

Your school will offer a group health insurance policy, you can sign up for that. The insurance will cover you if you get hit by a car or something not related to your heart. If you have to have heart treatment within the first eighteen months here though, they might not cover that. you will have to check with the policy to make sure. |

Your situation maybe different, so you can end up with higher premium policy. But you should not give up. If I were you, I would certainly look for answer from my close relatives and friends, then surf through the wealth of on-line sources and information available on the Internet, so I can be insured according to my needs.
