Yes, but its going to very expensive. I mean, people at that age or over might be paying $10/month for every $1000 of coverage.
So, if the person wanted $10,000 coverage, it would cost $100/month. Term insurance maybe a little cheaper, maybe $5/month per $1000 coverage.
I don't know anyone who has life insurance at age 70 still. I mean, if I was age 70 or older, I wouldn't need it. My mortgage would of been paid off by then, my kids are all grown up, and I have plenty of money in my investments. |

Yes, life insurance is offered by many life insurance companies for people over 70 years of age.
Each insurer has their own set of underwriting guidelines stating how much coverage they will offer you based on your age and health, and at what price.
You may need to take a medical exam in order to qualify for the life insurance policy.
However, Globe Life Insurance offers life insurance protection for people age 78 and under. You don't need to take medical exam. You just answer a few simple health questions online and find out instantly if you qualify for coverage.
If you want, you can start your policy today. With Globe Life, $1 pays your premium for the first month. You have a 30 day money-back guarantee. To learn more go to http://www.term-life-online.com/globe-life-insurance.html
I hope that helps! Take care and best of luck to you. |

yes, but it would be so expensive it wouldnt really be worth it, unless you needed it as a guarantee against something (ie loan), and there would most likely be lots of exclusions on it. |

there are many companies that will offer coverage for someone over 70. i would stick with the best rated companies like GE, Metlife, Pru, John Hancock etc. In most states, you will have to buy a permanent policy, like universal or whole life. a universal life policy with a deathbenefit guarantee can be used like a term policy that lasts forever. you will pay the least amount possible and have a death benefit forever but little or no cash value. |

It is available from nearly every life insurance company, assuming one can qualify based on health and reason for the insurance. There are also "guaranteed issue" policiesthat include older folk where it makes no difference what your health is like, but is very expensive per dollar of coverage and comes with a lot of restrictions as to how much will be paid out in the first few years. Try bestquote.com; Gerber Life, Transamerica Life, Aviva. |

It certainly is available. Try working with a local independent agent - one that represents several different companies. Be prepared with your medical history and medications when you meet with the agent. Discuss what you want to accomplish with this purchase of life insurance. You are buying a 'tool' to accomplish a task. Make sure you buy the right kind of tool.
Good Luck |
