Okay.

If your boyfriend does not live with you and isn't a regular driver of your car then he is an incidental driver and does not need to be listed on your policy nor do you need to inform State Farm.

If your boyfriend does not live with you but is a regular driver of your car then he does need to be listed as a driver on your policy. If he has his own car and insurance then you will not need to pay to add him. If he does not have his own car and insurance then you may have to pay to add him.

If your boyfriend does live with you then he needs to be listed as a driver in the household no matter how little or much he drives your car. If he has his own car and insurance you will not have to pay to add him. If he does not have his own car insurance then you will have to pay to add him.

Also, in any of the scenarios where he needs to be added to your policy his driving record can affect your rate and eligibility, depending upon the State Farm company you have your insurance with (State Farm Mutual or State Farm Fire and Casualty), whether your policy is guaranteed renewable or not and how bad his record is.

A major violation like a DUI or a reckless driving will put your (and anyone else you live with's!) policy at risk, but this is when it's great to have a company like State Farm where you have a local agent. They can work with you to get these issues resolved so you can keep your policy - not in all cases, but when there is leeway.

As far as coverage, State Farm will likely provide most of the coverages under any of these conditions as long as he has your permission to use your car. There are some coverages (PIP, Uninsured Motorist, for example) that may not or will not extend coverage to him, depending on whether or not he has his own car and insurance, and depending upon the laws of your state, the way your state's policy is written and the coverages you choose to carry. Often times for these medical and other coverages State Farm will only cover the named insured and resident relatives, and your boyfriend is neither.

I hope this helped. You really should call your agent so they can tell you specifically what applies in your situation. They can look at your policy, we cannot.

Good luck!

Call your insurance agent and ask- I imagine that if he's NOT listed on the policy as an insured driver then chances are he's NOT on the policy. However, some policies cover the car no matter who is driving. It's best to read over your policy and see EXACTLY what is and is NOT covered.

good luck

Totally depends on state and policy.

In many states, like in Michigan, the insurance is with the car and not the driver.

So, as long as he is legally licensed and NOT an "excluded driver" you should be fine.

Just call your agent and ask them if other drivers are covered. If they ask who, just tell them a friend or family member needs to borrow your car. The agent will tell you if you are covered.

We aren't looking at your policy, so we can't really answer this question for you.

I am a carrier of State Farm too. You will have to make your agent aware that you want to add this option to your policy. This was if anyone was driving your car, and was in a collision your car would be taken care of.

Hope this helps.

It depends on does your boyfriend live with you. If he lives with you then you are suppose to list him on the policy. If he does not live with you then he is covered and can drive your car without being added.

State Farm would probly cover him even if he lives with you and you did not add him. But they do have the option not to pay if you do not add him.

If he is a household member, he needs to be listed on the policy. If you don't list him, the insurance company can EITHER deny the claim, OR pay the claim, but charge you retroactively for him, depending on what state you are in.

And, if you didn't list him, they'll likely cancel your policy either way. It's too much hassle to try to fight with the insured, to make them do things the "right way". It's much easier to just cancel someone who's trying to cheat them out of the extra premium by not listing a driver.

You should call State Farm and find out about there policy.

Anyone can drive your car with permission, as long as they are not specifically excluded. That being said, if he lives with you, you need to add him as a household driver. Call your agent to go over it with them as they know you and your policy best. Not informing the agent if he lives there could result in denial of claim.

These are the rules:
If there is a person who doesnt live with you in the same household, and is NOT specifically EXCLUDED from your policy, then they will be covered under "permissive use".
With that being said, it all depends if your company actually does cover permissive use or not. And IF they do, there is a chance that their guideline is that its reduced to minimum liability (15/30/5) in most states.
If your boyfriend lives with you, he will not be covered unless his name is included. Even if its not excluded, he will not be covered.

you have to put him on. call your agent

Not unless he is related to you or on the policy... otherwise, have fun paying for it yourself!!

Chances are "no." Does he live with you? Does your insurance company know that he lives with you? Usually if you live with someone over 16 yrs. of age insurance companies add them because they know the person is likely do drive.
Is this car insurance or homeowners?

Call State Farm!!!
