Hard to say depending on region. I am assuming you are not currently a licensed agent. If you are, you can probably get a sales job with any insurance company anywhere. There is going to be an increase in the retiree market all over the US. However, I am leary about the future of health insurance availability for many Americans. With the cost of health insurance increasing, many americans are choosing to go without it. Hence, no commissions for you. Also, the health/life industry is much more difficult than the property/casuatly industry. In most states, P & C insurance is required for cars, homes, boats, etc. This means sales. People have to have it. NO state requires anyone to have health and life insurance. Its optional.
In any case, if your going to get involved in this industry, its very time-consuming. Be prepared to study, do your homework and get very involved with your clients. The best agents are those who are willing to make calls to their clients two to four times a year, send birthday cards, anniversary cards, etc. Its a fun industry. No so much if you don't like sales. |

Hell yes! Just about anything in the health care industry is good right now, and for the next three decades.
I've worked for a national health insurer since 1998. We have tripled in size in less than 10 years. I started out as a data entry person making $16,600 a year, and now manage my own center with an income of about $85,000.
Depending on what you want to do, this could be a great career. |

I work for an insurance agency and currently (depending on you location) there is a boom for sales people. If you post your resume on Monster or Careerbuilder with an interest in insurance you'll get plenty of responses. |
