Every insurance including LIC is monitored under strict guidence of IRDA (insurance regulatory and development authority india) their heavy licensing fee and solvency factor ensure customer safety.
If you are invested in a ULIP with exposure to equity you are no more guaranteed in terms of fund value, you will ride as the sensex does. else I-Pru is as safe as LIC don't worry!!

Investment made in ICICI PRU is safe due to IRDA but in ulip plan can say, as it moves with the market. more risk,more return. So that u have to choose.
