I've always used "Insure and go" and they've been fine and theyr'e a good price.

I've never heard of that company, but that doesn't always mean they're not good! I found my car insurance company Lancaster through moneysupermarket and even though i'd never heard of them I got a great deal and have had no problems. MS is great for saving you the bother of trawling thru loads of diff sites, and I think they do travel insurance as well as cars...

Same as any other - you only find out how good they are when you claim, whether its one of the big boys or not.If you don't feel happy, don't use them.It can turn out very costly if they're no use when needed.

why not try an insurance broker and get a GOOD policy from a GOOD company, rather than buying a product and worrying whether the product is OK or if a claim will be paid.

Why on earth buy insurance if you don't save the worry - and for what? - I bet the difference in price is probably less than a fiver - is the saving worth the worry?

As far as I know flexicover will be authorised and regulated by the FSA and be covered by the FSCS so you are unlikely to lose much money.

But I would check the policy especially the excesses and cover for pre-existing medical conditions as anything you buy off the internet will probably not give much cover.

Oh, by the way, I hate people using the word 'Best' when they mean 'Cheap'. A 20 year old Ford Escort will cost less than a brand new Ford Focus - does that make it better?

Go to travelsafe.com - they have really great coverage and it's priced low. They've been around for over 35 years too and I use them a lot.

I've never heard of "flexi cover direct." If you are a US resident (citizenship or current location does not matter only your residency), you might want to check out this program from Lloyd's of London. It's easy to apply and you can print your proof of coverage from your computer too, in case you need it for a visa.

There are two ways of getting the best travel insurance.

1- Always shop around. Prices always vary considerably between different travel insurance your personal situation can also play a big part in the isurance you get.

2- Second thing you should do is ask yourself how many times you intend to travel in any given year? If the answer is once, then cheap travel insurance can easily be found and can cost as little as £9 for a single trip.
