See if you can go through your work., even if you can get a representative to come to your work for a meeting you may be able to get a discounted rate that way. Or try getting your property and health insurance from the same people and get a group rate. Or try asking if you had a group of people (family and friends) interested would they give you all a group rate if so many signed up withing 3 mnths. |

An earlier answerer was right in that the difference between group rates and individual rates is not as great as it used to be. However, going with a group plan is still usually less expensive. More importantly, people with pre-existing conditions find getting into a group health plan much easier than an individual plan.
1.You could get insurance through your place of employment.
2.through a trade guild or association
3.through a high risk pool, if you have a condition that has made it difficult to get insurance on your own
4.if you’re a self-employed business owner, you might be eligible to be considered a “group of one,” depending on where you live. This would allow you to purchase insurance as a group instead of as an individual.
Try visiting MostChoice.com. It can generate price quotes and policy descriptions on health plans. In addition, you can talk with qualified agents who have probably answered the questions you have about health insurance. It’s fast, free, and your personal information is kept safe and secure.

Yes, back years ago it was legal for associations to bulk together and purchase health insurance in pools (known as groups). You can still find some of these groups that are in existence (example- Real Estate Associations) they will offer group rates for members of said associations. Having said this, not all group plans are cheaper than purchasing Individual and family plan rates. (rates will be based on Medical Underwriting)- Healthy people will be offered the least expensive rates. Seek help with a good Insurance broker, who specializes in Health Insurance. In California feel free to contact me directly.

Ok I dont know if this will help you since it is state specific, but being a medical care provider I have looked for my own coverage. My daughters pediatrician told me she uses Blue Cross of our state. I asked if it was expensive, and it turns out it wasnt.
Basically a private rate from Blue Cross is almost what you would pay through most companies with group rates nowadays. Sure the companies will be cheaper and I am sure there are some better perks, but if you are like me and independent from a company........
It is almost just as good.
(BTW lately, private versus group insurance isnt a big difference in price as it was before)
Give, this might be different for the state you live in |

You don't want to pay group rate rather than individual rate. Usually Group rate is higher than individual rate. You may get the group coverage with individual rate!
Check the following site. You can choose the best rate among the several quotes with the live agents who want your attention with their best quotes.

Call your local Chamber of Commerce they usually offer a group insurance rate for individuals that are not covered anywhere else. Keep in mind this is a little more costly than going through an employer but less expensive than going on your own. |

If you are old enough to belong to AARP they have insurance through UHC (United Health Care) at their group rates. Also check the state you live in web site. Some states will have some kind of subbed healthcare available. Not great but better than individual. |

Sometimes, depending on where you live.
In some states, the local small business associaton group will have a "group" plan that members can join up with, if they are members of the association. I'd start with your local small business council or other similar type civic group, and ask there. |
