Only if they are living with you as a dependent and you claim them on your income tax as a dependent. Not all insurance companies do but you can just always call them up and ask. They would know best on what services they provide.

smcgilli
extremely unlikely. they'd need to be your legal dependants. call HR at work to confirm.

Only if your company's plan allows sponsored dependents and your are your parents support. Generally speaking, that is not a typical plan.

Generally no, most of them will only cover an eligible spouse, and any dependants under the age of 24 (although they have to be full time students to be able to go that long). Tell your parents to buy a major medical policy, it wont cover routine stuff, but it will cover major things.

Mrs Apple
Companies don't offer benefits to their employee's parents, only spouse and children. However, if your company allows salary deductions to add them to your plan, then you can have them make the necessary deductions. If it costs a couple hundred to add them every paycheck, you might as well buy the health insurance directly from a healthcare company.

It's highly unlikely, but the only way you'll know for sure is by talking to your human resources representative.

Insurance typically requires that anyone covered by the plan is your legal dependent for tax purposes. Do you claim your parents on your taxes? If not, they're not going to qualify as dependents, and will not be covered.

Probably not... Call your insurance company, ask if your plan covers 'collateral' dependents. Are they eligible for medicare yet?
