Unless an insurance company has files underwriting rules with the local regulatory body stating that lack of prior insurance is a reason for declining a risk, then the insurer cannot refuse to insure based on that reason alone, and you'd be hard pressed to find any regulating body who would accept any insurer submitting that as an underwriting rule. So finding an auto insurer is not the problem, finding one that will charge a reasonable premium will require some leg work on your friend's part, however the internet is a wonderful thing. |

Best thing to do I think is call around and ask because u know or ur friend knows the answers they will ask. However; Geico is a pretty cheapand reputable ins. co. They insure a friend of mine with no driving license and an outstanding court non-compliance out of Ohio in another state --they insured him with a money thing order. |

What kind of insurance? Car insurance? Health insurance? House insurance? Car is easiest, but you'll have to go to Progressive, Leader Insurance, or other high risk carrier.
With health insurance, you face the possibility of excluded conditions, if they are pre-existing, but again, it shouldn't be hard to get a quote from a local, independent agent.
The house insurance is the hardest - you'll probably have to go in a "standard" rating tier, and as they use credit scoring, if the friend has low credit, it's likely not many companies will be willing to write her at all. There, your local, independent agent might be able to help, lining up a small regional carrier rather than one of the big houses. She should explain the financial crisis, that might help a bit. And if she gets desperate, she can get a policy through Foremost Insurance - find a local agent through www.foremost.com - it's an ok policy, but not the most comprehensive - for high risk, low credit, lots of past claims, no insurance history, and not fully updated houses. It costs more, but you only have to keep it a year before you can then (maybe) move back to a standard market. |

Just about any auto insurance company will, but the premiums will depend upon her driving history. An auto insurance company will not deny coverage based on lack of prior coverage. |

HE MAY HAVE TO PAY MORE OR BE PLACED INTO HIGH RISK FOR A SHORT TIME BUT YES...HE CAN GET INSURANCE, CHECK WITH PROGRESSIVE, AAA, ALLSTATE, AND JUST ASK FOR QUOTES. IT IS VERY EASY TO FIND OUT. |

I'd need more info to answer with any degree of certainty...
First, what type of insurance is this person seeking? Second, in what state or metro area does this person reside? |
