Fronting is where one driver obtains insurance in their name, with someone else as a named driver, when in fact it is the named driver who is the usual or only driver of the car. This is usually done by a parent with a child as the named driver, because insurance would be expensive or impossible for the named driver. It will void your policy because the insurance company will be basing the premium on the low risk of the main driver, rather than the high risk of the named driver.
In your case it appears that you have told the insurance company the correct facts, so you are not fronting. It does not make any difference who pays, as long as the facts are correct. |
