~~It's very fraudulent if they were still deducting any part of the premium from your check still. If you were hired with the understanding you had health insurance was part of your benefit package, I think it also would be a problem if they took it away without notifying you in advance. I would check with your local labor board for your state's laws.
Prior to doing anything I would definitely check with you HR dept, or boss or manager, to be sure it isn't a paper work error issue (I have heard of this happen, and more times that you would think). If it isn't then find out what your rights are. I am very much hoping it's just an error. Best of luck!~~ |

No. However, if you had insurance from work that was cancelled that recently, you are probably entitled under COBRA to continue coverage AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE for at least 18 months. Also, if your coverage ended (for any reason) and you are eligible for COBRA, it was illegal for your employer to fail to provide you with a written notice telling you of your right under COBRA to continue coverage. |

Let's not jump to huge conclusions. Have you spoken with your HR department or the boss? Perhaps there was a mix up on the payment and it's just a clerical error. Give them a chance to explain and rectify the situation.
However, if your employer has just stopped providing health care for everyone, there is a much bigger problem affecting more than just you. At the very least you should be reimbursed for the $100 per week for any money taken out since September 1st. Don't know what you can do beyond that. |

It may be a simple mistake. Talk to your payroll department as soon as possible. Check your stubs to see if they have been taking out $100/week. If they have, then they should be paying the premiums.
If they are not paying the premiums, you can ask for your $100/week back. Good luck with that. I recommend looking for another job, it sounds like your company is having financial trouble.

Probably more of a cross up in paperwork. Ask your boss to look into it. If you don't get any results, contact the insurance commissioner in your state. |

You need to find a new job - when they can't make the insurance payments, it's not long before they can't make payroll. |
