Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I'm from Montana I'm not sure about California regulations, so I recommend you visit a local health insurance agent. http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Health-Insurance.html They should be able to assist you. |

~~We are currently signing up for a Blue Shield Plan which I think may be better.
Ours will have a maximum out of pocket cost of $4000.00 a year. Medications and office visits are covered through our deductible. This means we will only pay the "contracted Blue Shield rate on all charges" until we reach the maximum of $4000.00 then it is 100 percent coverage.
The reason this is better is my 25 year old son is only going to have a $52 a month premium. When paying the contracted rate charged by providers, many PCP's only can charge $25 for an office visit. Same with labs, x-rays, etc. they are greatly reduced when you are paying a contracted rate versus a regular rate.
If interested in looking into this our agent is Lisa and she is at 1-800-611-9057 ext #2206. She has been great for us and we have used her for over 5 years and with two different plans. We also live in California. Good luck~~ |

I think its your basic plan and is good for a healthy person. Three things I would really think about though
1) 40% co-insurance can be a lot. Depending on what your doctor charges, you paying 40% can be a bit pricey
2) Is the out of network coverage the same for in-network?
3) One bullet you have No annual deductible and then under presciptions you hae $500 deductible. This deductible is probably only for prescriptions. If that is the case that can be a lot. For any non generic presciption you have, you'd have to pay the full price of that prescription!!! Those things aren't cheap.
When looking for health insurance I would look at the deductible, the co-insurance and which services are covered before and after the deductible (i.e. co-pays apply only after the deductible)
The higher the deductible usually the lower the monthly premium. If you're pretty healthy then a higher deductible is ok. |

Looks good for the price. The MOST you'll have to pay out, in a year, is $6,000.
Note, it does NOT cover any maternity. |

Take a look at this plan on my site and you'll see ones from the same company that are better. You can compare the benefits side-by-side and it requires no personal information to use.
It's not bad, but for the money you could probably do a little better....even within the same company. |
