OK, several reasons. First of all, repair shops don't charge LESS to repair your car, as it gets older. Body shop hourly rates NEVER go down, only up. Medical costs never go down, either. I know, YOU never had an accident, but your rates get AVERAGED IN with everyone else's, and OTHER people are still having them. You don't get SURCHARGED, but the rates will still go up, because CLAIMS go up, because nothing ever gets cheaper.
Also, as time goes on, people tend to get newer, more expensive cars. Upgrade, if you will. And those cars cost more to insure.
Expenses go up. Housing costs go up, job salaries/wages go up, the cost of bread goes up, the cost of insurance goes up, just like everything else.
You can ALWAYS shop around to see if you can get a better rate elsewhere. |

Your insurance will fluctuate with the Interest levels. I have Allstate and they have the Good Driver Discounts, and the first year it went down and now this year it went up. I got other quotes from Insurance Companys and they are still the Lowest for what I carry. |

However, other factors, like how many accidents occur near your home or in the county where you live, can also affect your rate. Sometimes your car insurance premium goes up even if you haven't done anything wrong.
It is good to get a quote every now and again to make sure that you are still getting a good deal. Maybe now would be a good time for you. |

Are they insuring the same car as before? the make and model of the car makes a difference. if you changed cars, that might be the reason why.
But, yes, the rates should go down over time with a good driving record. My current insurance started at $80, went down to $70 and now is down to just below $60 after three years. |

Unless you got a different car, I don;t see why they would raise your rates, like you said, it should get lower if anything. Contact your agent and ask about it- if they give you some sketchy answers, look for another insurance. I switched last year from State Farm to Farmers Ins and it saves me about $300 per year (with same coverage and deductible.) |

Insurers are definitely big scammers of all time! I'd suggest trying to find another insurance provider....Try these tips from consumer reports on Auto Insurance, they may answer some questions you might have about finding the best in value of insurance for cars these days....good luck!
