Nope, you can't get it on the computer.
How about pulling an old tax return from your files somewhere? Maybe you filed taxes on turbotax, and can look up an old return? Otherwise, it's off to the social security office for you! |

I lost mine and didn't need proof of #, all you need is proof of who you are. Photo ID and birth cert. Or marriage lince. Something like that. ANY goverment office can look up your # with just proof of who you are. I showed state ID and marriage lince. and got mine back in like a week or so. Just tell them your name, your # if you know it by heart(which everyone should do by the way). And they may ask parents' names. My ss card was stolen along with my purse and so on. |

No, I don't think you can, but if you go to the Social Security office with proof of who you are, like a photo I.D. or driver license, they can send you a new card, but it does take 10 to 14 business days. However, they give you a letter the same day or two that says that "who ever you are" has applied for a social security card and it provides your number.
I hope this helps.
Also, do note, that you can only get 3 social security cards in a year, and 10 in a life time, free of charge. |

The only place you can get an new copy is through the Social Security office, it usually takes a few weeks for it to arrive. I would suggest to search for your card, if it gets into the wrong hand, it could create a major issue. |

Take your birth certificate and picture ID down to the Social Security office. You may have to wait in line, but when you ask for a replacement card, they will give you a paper that you can use as proof. |

No you can't get it online...they make it difficult!
My best suggestion is if you have had a job before, call the last employer you had...most employers take a copy of your drivers license and social security card. They are required to keep employment records for a certain number of years after an employee is discharged.
Also an FYI...when you go directly to the social security admin office to apply for a new card, they give you a letter stating you have applied for a new card (with your number on the letter) and will have a new one within 2 weeks. Most places deem this significant proof. |
