You should go through your own insurance company. That way you will be taken care of.
If you were injured and need to be compensated, get a lawyer.
My experience w/ State Farm is that the person holding the policy is the one that gets screwed.
As long as the police report shows that it was the other guy's fault, he has to pay, even if his insurance doesn't. Your insurance helps with that. |

I have heard of good and bad experiences with them. My suggestion is this: give them a chance to review the damage to your vehicle and see if they will be fair. If they will not, you can always turn the loss into your carrier. NOTE: if the unit is undrivable, you may want to put your own carrier on notice immediately to avoid delays. You will only have so much loss of use coverage either way (reasonable time to repair on SF, and assuming you purchased the option on your policy). You may find that they treat you fairly. If not, you can go to your company and reserve the right to file a Department of Insurance complaint against State Farm. Peace. |

Did you get a police report? If it's clear that the other driver was at fault, I think you'll be fine. Call right away though & really bug the agent if you have to. They'll process you quickly just to shut you up. |

State Farm is the largest auto writer in the US, with the lowest percentage of complaints.
But if you are at all worried about it, use YOUR insurance, and let your insurance company worry about collecting from State Farm. |

Like the other poster said, State Farm is the largest insurer and has won JD Power awards for claim satisfaction.
If you go through your own insurance, you will have to pay your deductible. Then, once they send State Farm the bill, you will receive your deductible back.
Give State Farm a try. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised! |
