I would recommend that you also sell annuities, long-term care and health. I disagree with a few of the answers. Success in the financial service industry is unlimited. It depends how hard you want to work. If your not making at least $100,000 you doing something wrong. |

I agree with mbrcatz17.
Life insurance is difficult to sell because people aren't required to have it as they often are required to carry auto insurance and homeowners insurance if they have a mortgage. |

it doesn't matter what the average income is...if you are the employer then you charge what you're worth or what people will pay you for your expertise. Every year the cost goes up on everything so you can automatically slowly increase what you would charge. However, you must have the education and credentials, the experience, a local license, and the allowance by your state to be a life agent before you become one. |

Its pretty low if your doing the job only on commission. You'll need an actually job until you get some clients and cash flow. Be careful with those insurance district managers, they will gladly lie right to your face about how much you will make and how easy it is. I hated the insurance sales gig but it may be just what your looking for. |
