Life insurance direct..NO AGENTS!!!?
I am trying to get life insurance..... it seems that all the online quotes really do is get my infoover to an agent and then we go from there. It seems that I could cut thru the noise if I could deal direct with an insurance company. Please advise
Most insurance companies do not sell direct. Most life insurance companies have distribution networks through various types of agents.
There are a few companies that sell direct to the consumer, but I wouldn't know how to tell you to find them without plugging any specific company.
If you are just looking to save money by buying direct then you won't really have any luck. The companies that sell direct to the consumer have costs as well so their prices will be comparable. Instead of paying commission to an agent you would just be paying for TV ads, Internet ads, etc.

I think there are some ... but I am not sure how you would find them. In Canada the few I have seen are for very basic policies with small limits of coverage.
I don't know why you would not want to deal with an agent or broker who has helped hundreds or thousands of people buy insurance. They know what to look for and what to avoid.

In my experience, the companies with more elaborate distribution systems tend to be more competitive. If you do find an insurance company that deals direct with the public, they won't offer any competitive bids for you.
I understand your frustration of wanting to get accurate quotes (not just a best-case scenario) without being hounded by salespeople, and then being able to choose the one that you want. This would allow you to have control over the process, benefit from competition, and hopefully make an objective decision based on what's important to you.
I'd like to hear more about your frustrations in your words. Also, would an anonymous system that puts you in control be a good place to start?

You may be able to find companies direct, but I'm not completely sure. I think you almost always have to go through agents.

Nope, can't do it. I don't know of any insurance companies that will sell life insurance NOT through an agent.
