No, you can't. There has to be an insurable interest. In other words, If your dad died (God forbid before his time) his death would not have an adverse effect on your finances or lifestyle. However, your father could take a policy out in the event of your demise, as your death would have a detrimental affect on him. i.e. He would lose a carer, and would have to replace you as such. As I assume you are not paid for taking care of your dad, this means he would have to pay your replacement.

You need insurance on you, so that if something happens to you, he can be provided for. |

If your dad has no debts and has enough money in the bank to pay for his funeral, he does not need life insurance.
I just read that in a magazine.
You'll get all his assests once he passes.

I highly doubt he will be eligible fo life insurance with his muscular dystrophy. Even if he was you cannot take a life insurance policy out on his life. he has to apply for and sign the policy. |
