Your other half is outside the range of most garden variety life issuers (but you probably know that) your best bet is to find an independent life agent with access to a life brokerage. Get some referrals from insurance people you know. If you're in Ohio, I know a guy (no it's not me).

Also, make sure they call company underwriting prior to submitting your case, the last thing you need is a declination showing up on MIB (www.mib.com) on a case they should have known they were going to decline to begin with. Good luck

How much are you willing to pay? You CAN find high risk life insurance - even if you're dying of cancer - if you're willing to pay enough premium.

You're NOT going to get very good odds on a policy for someone morbidly obese. So if you're looking for, say, $100,000 of coverage for $1,000 a year, it's NOT going to happen. If you're willing to pay "high risk" premiums, or buy a
"paid in full" policy (for like 50% to 75% of the face value), then you can find it.

In my experience, though, when someone wants high risk life insurance, they don't want to pay high risk prices. Which is what you'll have to do.

How tall is the person? Blood pressure is fine as long as it's under control.

Thanks for the additional info:
If you want to know a company, West Coast Life would probably offer him a "table F" which means for $100k of 10 year term on a 40 year old it's $283 a year or $24.76 a month. I'd honestly look harder to see if there was a better deal if I knew it was coming my way, but for "substandard" that sounds like a reasonable price. Talk to an independent agent or email me through Y!Answers.
