It would help reduce the cost of a policy for your family. But you still would have to come up with a lot of money to insure your family. Frankly, you probably won't be able to afford it, even with the credit. In the meantime, if I were you, I would check out your state's website, many offer insurance coverage for children.

~~Under McCains plan you would get $5,000 to pay for some kind of health insurance. Sounds real good-huh? His catch is whatever policy you have, you have to add the total amount of the cost of that policy to your gross income when you file taxes. Therefore, you could be placed in a higher tax bracket. It's an awful plan, just made to sound good, but would actually mean a higher tax bracket for having insurance. His idea stinks!~~ |

Think of their other great works.. Social Security, Public Schools, etc..
