Metlife insurance co. is hiring and offering paid training, is this a good company to work for? Paid training?

Well, most of the time, "paid training" is an advance on commissions against your future sales.

Sure, they're a great company, but it's basically just a straight sales job.

For what position? There are about 1000 different jobs they could be asking you to do from accounting and management to answering phones and being a field agent.

They pretty much hire anyone who can pass the licensing exam. (If you are talking about a sales position) It works like an agents mill, you basically try to sell their products to your friends and family. It is defiantly great training in the sales field. How do I know? This is how I started out my career as an insurance agent (not at Met but at WSLIFE). Eventually I got tired of having to work so hard, and now work in the property and casualty industry. I dont have to cold call or set appointments, but the training I recieved was very usefull.

if you can make good money....my b/f was gonna try to work for aflac, but he would be independent insurance salesman, and would work on commissions, until he worked his way up...so he couldnt quit his current job in hopes of becoming a insurance salesman.

Please provide more information - what kind of position?

MetLife is a good company. A friend of mine worked as a claims examiner for them for many years. The training program was excellent. She had no previous experience in claims processing, but learned so much during the training course.

a job is a job.
