runnercaiti1 | Mom has insurance on me at 23, still snoops? |
My mom has insurance for me still because Im in college, however she faked my signature so that she could get a free credit report through their company too, and then lectured me! This really bothers me because I am tired of her snooping through my life. Who can I call to make sure she can't do this crap? I don't care if she takes my insurance away, I would prefer she does! I am almost 24 and this is her way of still controlling part of my life! Additional Details She is not paying any of my bills and I don't live with her. |

If she is still paying your bills, then she has some rights to see what you are spending her money on. If she is not, you need to put your foot down and tell he she must stop doing what she is or you will report her to the insurance/credit company. I don't know if you are the oldest child, but for some parents it is really hard to let go of their child. I hope this works out for you. |

You can order your credit reports on line or on the phone. They do not need a signature. The government allows you to order your credit report for free once a year. The website is www.annualcreditreport.com There is no catch. Order your reports and then call the companies and tell them to put you on a do not call list. Or maybe someone here can tell you how to get on the list. Then tell them to put you on a credit watch because someone is ordering your reports without your knowledge. Do this after you get your own credit reports first.

Wow--sorry that sucks :(
As far as your insurance goes, you can request an alternate address to protect your privacy. That will allow any EOB's (Explanations of Benefis--statements showing services you receive using the insurance) sent directly to you, as well as any other correspondence that is supposed to be for you.
You may have to request that in writing but if you call them they can give you the process. |

OK, if you're not really her dependent, she doesn't provide you with any college expenses, you BOTH are committing insurance fraud.
Insurance companies don't give you credit reports.
You have to call the police and file criminal charges against her for forging your signature. And call the insurance company, tell them you aren't her dependent any more, and to cancel you off the insurance. |

If you are still taking money from mom, or living at home, or not paying for all of your expenses, such as insurance, she might be concerned about you being careless about your credit, especially if she is a co-signer on any of your expenses. |
