Ask your lawyer!! He'll know.
Keep in mind, depending on how long it's lapsed, you also owe the lender for the forced placement insurance coverage. THAT could easily triple your "outstanding amount due", depending on how long the insurance is lapsed. |

I did not think this was possible but did google search and found out "maybe".
As for insurance lapsing, if anything happens to the car from your old policy and till June 1st, it maybe not covered. When they repo a car, sometimes damages happens while doing so, and if so, since it happened prior to new policy, then they wont pay for the damages. Also, insurance will not pay for storage charges that you will have when/if you get the car back, so you will have to pay. You may also be on the hook for towing. |
