The adult in charge of taking care of his personal effects would need to locate a copy of his policy in his personal belongings and contact them. The money goes to whomever is listed as the beneficiary no matter what his will says. That is the law. You would not be able to do anything in this matter, you are a minor. Let the grown folks take care of it. |

Go through your dad's personal documents - he should have a copy of the policy which the agent provided him when he bought the policy. Has any insurance agent paid his/her last respects to your dad during the funeral service? If yes, check out that person - he/she may be the agent who can help you. |

Condolence to you, Try to get hold of his policy it is the contract between the company (Isurance Company) and your Dad. The Policy usally states all. Stipulated in the policy the amounts and all the beneficiaries are stated if you got brothers and sisters or your Mom. To whom the said amount goes to. |

Go through his files, look for a copy of the policy. Go through his checking account statements for the past year, or ask the bank for a copy of them, and see if there's a payment to an insurance company for the life insurance. |

If you have access to his bank statements, you would be able to see if there might have been any debit payments against a insurance policy - if so, it should lead you to a number and the name of the insurance policy.
