Yes, but you're going to pay face value plus 10%.
The odds are always going to be in favor of the insurance company. As he's not likely to live a year, they'll want you to pay the $10,000, plus expense, up front.
You're NOT going to get a $10,000 policy for $1,000, which is probably what you're looking for. Which means, you're best off just putting the money in the bank yourself. |

Yes you could. Since he wouldn't pass medical underwriting due to his health, you'd want to concentrate on policies that ask few (or no) medical questions beforehand. Typically, these policies are called "modified benefit life" contracts. This is the way these contracts work: if the person dies within the first two or so years after the policy is issued, the benefit is restricted to the amount of premiums paid (unless the death is purely accidental); if the death happens after the restriction period, then the full face amount is paid. Due to your father's circumstances, this is probably not an option.
So instead of a life insurance policy, why don't you look into a "pre-need" contract? These contracts are sold through funeral homes and lock in the cost of the funeral. So if your father passes away next year, you'd still pay this year's price. I really think this is your only available option. |

this will be quite a difficult task but i believe its doable. google and find an experienced life insurance broker who knows where to look for tough cases like yours. |

You may be able to purchase a term life insurance on a 5 year plan, but prepare for the premiums to be very high because of his age and health.
A word of warning: It will be tempting to lie on the forms because you'll get more money for lower premiums. DO NOT LIE. If they find out, even in the smallest capacity, that you fudged information on the form, you will not receive any of the insurance. |
