The only one I know of is foremost - www.foremost.com - and they make you sign a dog exclusion form - which means, they won't cover dog bites.
About lying about having the dog - very bad idea. It's material misrepresentation, and will void your policy. Which means, if the house burns down, and a neighbor mentions the Rotti, they cancel your policy retroactively, and they don't have to pay for the house fire. |

If your dog has no bite history..
Try several of the big direct writers..State Farm, Farmers, Met Life;
For an article on the subject..http://www.insuranceyak.com/dogs-and-homeowners-insurance/ |

State Farm will write ANY BREED OF DOG - the only questions asked at application is how many dogs, have they bitten anyone, and are they trained for attack or guard purposes.
I guess it can vary by state, so I should specify that I'm in PA. |

Don't do what Mary B says. If you have a claim, the insurer will deny coverage if they discover you lied (and they will if you have dog licenses or neighbors who talk). That is a loser's proposition.
You will have to call insurers and ask them the question. |

i got chewed by 5 rotts while walking to the store a couple yrs. ago. one word. liability. |

You are going to have to call around.
I know for a fact that Liberty Mutual will not insure Rotties and 8 other breeds.
Good luck. |

Although few companies will actually cover the liability if the dog hurts anyone (and that includes bites or even if someone trips over the dog) many companies will exclude the animal liability. This means, you can secure coverage, but any injury the animal causes will not be covered. Since I know of no companies that will cover a Rott or many other dogs deemed 'aggressive' (including pitts, shepards, akita, etc) this might be your best bet.
Also, absolutely do not, under any circumstances say you do not have a dog. This will (with many companies) result in a denial of coverage for any type of claim, since it is a material misrepresentation. Meaning, they would not have issued the policy had all the facts been in place. |

The thing is, you may not find one that will allow the dog.
The only thing you can do is call another company and tell them you don't have a dog...I know that is dishonest, but it's the only way you are going to get insurance and just pray you don't have a claim. |
