How come, My friend paid £2000 for a Diamond ring, but its insured for £6000? |
I thought if you bought a ring it was certified when you bought it at the price you bought it, therefore any insurance company would only insure it for the amount you paid!?
Any ideas?... |

"Kh a a a a a n n" ! ! | My snowplow man hit my house and did some damage. Do snowplow guys have to carry insurance for this? |
I live near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Would someone plowing snow there be required to carry insurance for this sort of thing? The damage, which was accidental, will cost at least a few thousand to repair. My insurance will cover it, but my insurance company might go after the snow plow guy for it. Would he be covered? Should he be?
Thanks |

His car insurance would be who would pay for this - regardless if he had snowplow insurance or not.
Your car insurance pays for damages to other's property, whether that be another vehicle or a house. Unless he was driving illegally without car insurance, you are covered by him. |

The snow plow driver's auto liability insurance will cover the loss. You can file a third party claim against his auto policy to avoid paying the upfront deductible on your homeowner's claim.
If for some reason he has no insurance, your insurance company will still demand reimbursement from him. |

It is good that your company is covering the damage. The situation with the person who caused the damage is rather immaterial. He almost certainly has coverage. However, if he does not, it is not, not, not your problem.
Provincial law will prevail.
You may wish to place pole barriers / markers so the next guy does not get too close. Remember the 7 P's of the American military:
Proper Prior Planning Prevents Pathetically Poor Performance. |

They should carry insurance. It is the snow plow guys fault - his insurance should pay for it. Anytime your hire someone to do work at your home - any work - you should ask to see their liability and workers comp insurance. |

Hi Mr.6,If your snowplow guy is a company you might get some satisfaction from his insurance, assuming his vehicle is insured for operating on a work basis and not just for pleasure.Could also be he is not covered and is making a few bucks on the side.Ask if he is covered and get specifics like his insurer and the policy number.Best of luck. |

He should have business insurance if not his car insurance will cover it because he can claim he was doing you a favor and drove into your house. |

By law, companies have to have insurance for property damage. You should go after the plow company so that their insurance company will pay; that way, your insurance will definitely not increase for filing a claim. |
