This is a question best left to your divorce attorney, but I suspect that the legal separation agreement may well spell out such things. It may be that even though she is still an "insured" under your policy that you are not responsible for her co-pays, etc. Best to look at the separation agreement and consult with your attorney, in my opinion, to get the best answer. |

yes, she is listed on your insurance policy. you should call your insurance company after she has left the hospital and they have received the claim to find out how much the bill will be. some insurance plans are really good to where you don't have to pay anything out admissions and others you do have a co-pay before insurance will cover anything, etc. hopefully her going to the hospital will not cause you to have an out of pocket expense, but every plan is different and also if the on call doctor takes her insurance. good luck |

Either you're married, or you aren't. "Seperated" doesn't get you off the hook. If Maryland is a community property state, you can be held responsible for any of her unpaid medical expenses. And as the subscriber of your policy, you, ultimately, the subscriber, are responsible for any copays, deductibles, or coinsurance that any of your dependents incur. |

Lee is right. No one can tell you for sure what you're responsible for. Even though you may hold the insurance, she's an adult and she should have some accountability. |
