You cannot get maternity coverage after you've already become pregnant.
After all....think of what you are asking....you are asking to join a pool of people (the other insureds in that same company) and then asking to pay a little bit in premiums and then asking for those other insured to pay a lot of THEIR money for YOUR medical bills.
You wouldn't want your money to be spent that way would you?
Since this is going to cost you between $5000 to $10,000...you may want to start saving up now....and considering buying a health care discount card that can get you a significant savings off the retail price of the medical services you will soon be buying.

Insurance covering existing maternity will be hard to find
but there are other options if you are looking to save on
multiple doctor's visits, sonograms, and eventually
the hospital stay. I would look into discount medical programs
such as the one listed below.

The laws of CA might differ from those in the normal world (duh!). You might find that such coverage must be included in all health policies. You'll want to check with your local health insurance agent.
Here in Michigan, such coverage only comes from Blue Cross, and it's very expensive - around $500+ a month

Sorry no, any health insurer would not cover a "pre-existing" condition. Maybe you could check with a local women's clinic that basis cost on income and ability pay. I wish you luck.
