As an agent of a life insurance company, you are an employee of the agency - not the insurance company.
This is kindof like working at a McDonalds franchise. You are the franchisee's employee, not McDonalds.
Because of this, the answers to all of your questions will vary depending upon the agency. Some will be all commission, some may give you a draw, training varies, etc...
I would suggest applying at several local insurance agencies to determine which is the best fit for you.

there's no base pay. It's straight commission. YOu pay for your license. You don't sell, you don't get any money. INterview process basically consists of them checking for a pulse, as it's no skin off their back to let EVERYONE do it. |

Look dude, this is a tough business. If you aren't willing to do the leg work yourself, save yourself the trouble and look for a steady job where the answers are handed to you. Secondly, these are all great interview questions. If you can't ask your potential sales manager these basic types of questions, how much confidence will you have asking a complete stranger detailed financial questions? You definitely don't want to walk into an interview with nothing to ask. Third, there are a ton of companies out there to interview with if you are set on this field. I do recommend starting off in a career system because the training is better, but check around with other companies and remember that their training is still biased. |

Good luck sleeping at night. Whole life agents know they are stealing from their clients. ( stealing clients time use of money) and not telling them all the little hidden clauses in an insurance policy. but people trust a guy in a suit and a big name insurance company and they get screwed every day. do your homework on cash value and then re-think what you are getting into. |
