No insurance ticket?
I got a ticket today for no insurance. I know I can go to court and show proof of insurance and just pay court costs. After I show the court my insurance card, are they going to contact the insurance company to make sure it is valid? I'm sure you know why I am asking.
Yes they will call. And worse you would be in contempt of court for lying under oath. Just pay for some basic insurance.

Yes they check. You should have shown him the form when you were getting the ticket. They don't check when they are in the field. I would just pay the fine and get your insurance updated. In some states your license is suspended if you do not have insurance or if it laps. You should have just kept your insurance up to date. It's cheaper that way.

Yes they will check! I know that in Virginia if you do not have insurance you have to pay $500 through the DMV for an uninsured motor policy. Be smart and get some insurance, you could hurt yourself and or someone else.

The insurance card may not be enough, because it only shows that you had insurance when it was issued.
Some courts require you to bring a certificate from the insurance company that the insurance was still in effect on the day of the ticket. If I understand your implication correctly, you will not be able to provide that documentation.

sure, you want to forge the insurance card.
See, the insurance companies download insurance and vin information at least twice a week. So that cop was already pretty darned sure that you had no insurance, unless your insurance company messed up the vin on your insurance card. That's why you got the ticket.
So yes, all they have to do is run the vin on your insurance card, see if it matches your car, and verify if you REALLY have current insurance in place.
People try to pass off forged id cards all the time, and the vast majority of them get caught.
Your call.

Most of the time they check. Is it worth playing the odds. Probably not. Just pay the ticket and then get some insurance. Keep your insurance in force, it is so much cheaper that way!
