Notarize a document?
My friends and I would like to host Airsoft competitions on a course we have been making. We would like to charge for it and create a liability waiver which protects us from being blamed for damage to other peoples Airsoft guns and an injuries they may sustain etc. What would we have to do to make this entire concept legal and how much will it cost?
Your doc would just be a scare tactic. There is no law that would hold you harmless. This is the same for the carts in your grocery stores parking lot. They are responsible for damage done to your vehicles but they put signs up to keep you from thinking so. Talk with an attorney and get a good general liability policy.

Liability waivers don't hold up in court. Lots of people want them. It's not going to happen. You can have them sign away EVERYTHING, but it's not going to hold up in court - it's AGAINST PUBLIC INTEREST.
You can't "opt out" of laws, here in the US.
Insurance is going to cost A LOT. It's going to depend heavily on your minimum age requirement for players. If it's adults only, figure it will start at $5,000. If you allow minors to play, double it.
But you'll get REAL quotes from a local agent. AND, you should talk to a lawyer to confirm my first statement.

talk with an attorney first. most do first consultations for free, so you can decide whether or not it would be best to have them draw up a document or something you can do on your own. it all depends on the state you reside in, which is why i recommend an attorney consultation.
