packers4, Home insurance covers lots of different things. I don't understand all the details of my homeowners policy, but my homeowners insurance agent is always helpful. Try calling your agent or a homeowners agent in your city. http://www.easyhomeinsuranceguide.com They will be able to help you.

He should contact his doctor. His doctor may be able to give him enough samples to tide him over.

tell him to contact drug manufacturer- he may be able to get it free for now. Check with his doctor- may be able to get samples from him. check with partnership for prescriptions- will help get meds at no cost.

I can only judge by the effects plavix has on me. Its effects last only a few days after you discontinue taking the pill. I know that because that is how long before surgery you must discontinue it so you do not bleed excessively. Aspirin does the same as plavix but in a small way. God has left it in your friends hands since he gave him a method to live longer. I do not know which arteries are obstructed but I would make every effort to get him back on plavix. No one can say how fast a problem can occur but it will occur much faster off the medication than on.

Most pharmacies have programs for people without insurance, for example, Wal Mart will let you get generic prescriptions for $4 for 30 day supply or $10 for 90 days. Walgreens, Longs, most chain pharmacies have programs for uninsured people. God helps those who help themselves.
Curious Me
Make him go back to the doctor and ask for something else. Does your friend know that he needs medicine to help prevent clots which may lead to further heart attacks and strokes.
The doctor needs to know that he is not taking his meds properly, and can give him another pill. It is not as effective as Plavix, but it does work.
There may be a compassionate care program available in his community, and he may be able to get
Plavix at low or no cost through the Pharmaceutical company's Patient Advocate Program.
He needs to start inquiries through the local Health Dept. and his doctor.
Good Luck.
