jodeemessina2004 | Ok where can someone get health insurance? |
ok where can someone get health insurance to get a vasectomy reversal is there any health insurance that helps pay for that |

No insurance will every pay for that. The success rate is about 25%, at best. The cost is $6,000-$10,000.
First of all a vasectomy reversal is elective surgery, and a pre-existing condition. Insurance will not cover it for those two reasons alone.
Secondly, it makes no business sense. Insurance companies are in business to make money. If you and your hubby pay in about 5K a year in premiums, what makes you think they want to pay for more than 5K a year in healthcare, for something that is not medically necessary? Honestly it will take about three years for you to reverse the vasectomy, and have a baby (if successful). In that three years you will pay the insurance company about 15K. The delivery room, pre, and post natal care, and the vasectomy reversal will cost them about 30K+. What is in it for them?
If you go though your employer and they are self insured, then that money will not be available to the other employees health needs. Are you willing to spend that money on your selfish need for a baby, and deny some other employees’ son the surgery he needs to save his hearing, or something similar? Sounds like great ethics doesn’t it – NOT!
Think about it. Your hubby had a vasectomy for a reason (he wanted to have lots of “Childfree” sex). He must face the consequences of his choice. If he does reverse his vasectomy he can’t exactly teach your future children about actions and consequences can he? That sounds like pretty bad parenting, and you have not even started.
Face reality hunny, you are not having children, unless you adopt! |

Same place you go for health insurance to cover cosmetic surgery - your bank account.
No one does it, it's purely voluntary, and not medically necessary. The BUSINESS reason why no insurance company sells that coverage, is because you can't get a "spread of risk" on it - the only people who would buy it would be men who've had vasectomies, and want reversals. |

You can't.
I've seen literally thousands of benefit plan designs, and I've never once seen one that covered vasectomy reversal. (Heck, some don't even cover a vasectomy or tubal being done the first time.)
Save your pennies and pay out of pocket. Its your only option. I guarantee if you asked the doctor who you wanted to perform the vasectomy, he'd tell you the same thing. (I'd bet any amount of money that the doctor has never seen an insurance policy cover a reversal either.) |

I very seriously doubt you will find any health insurance that would pay for that type of procedure. All of the health plans I have seen don't even cover an elective vasectomy or tubal..much less a reversal. I think you're going to have to pay for this on your own! |
