call every single credit card company your with and tell them. the number will be on the statements. tell them what happened. and call your insurance company and let them know. the dmv and ss ought to issue you new cards.

Contact your human resources department who handles the insurance company or contact them immediately . Let them know your wallet was stolen with the cards in it and that you need replacements and would like new numbers associated with them. It happened to me and unfortunately someone can just use your card not all places require identification when you go to see a dr or a dentist.

Yes, there is the potential for someone to use your insurance card to receive healthcare. All they would do is pay the copayment and you get stuck with a bill. The healthcare facility is supposed to make a copy of photo id so it doesn't happen often anymore but I am sure some places still don't check.

Contact the three credit bureaus (Trans-Union, Equifax and Experian) and let them know your wallet was stolen and to put a fraud alert on your account.

You may want to inquire about putting a freeze on your credit accounts. This will cast you $10.00 per credit bureau. No one (not even you) will be able to apply for any type of credit using your account until you lift the freeze.

Don't forget - you are also entitled to 1 free credit report every 12 months from each of the credit bureaus. You can go to www.annualcreditreport.com to get it. The web site also has information on how to set up a fraud alert.

If your card was issued in the past 3-4 years, it probably does not contain your social security number for privacy reasons. However, it is possible for someone to use your health insurance card to get medical services without presenting ID (especially prescriptions if there is a drive-thru.)

Contact your employer or the insurance company and tell them that your card was stolen and to watch out for fraudulent claims. You probably want to get a new ID number as well just to make sure.

If they went to a hospital emergency room they could use your name for a free bill.

Dam drug users will do that too. So they can get some pain killers.

Lets just hope that your Member ID number isn't your social security number. I've had it happen tome before where someone tried opening credit cards with my social security number from my insurance card.

Like auto insurance id card? Nope, nothing. Don't worry about that. But your license and credit cards are a different story . . .
