I don't believe a "boyfriend" is considered part of a "family". You would have to jump over the ol' broomstick, then notify human resources that you are married, and to add him on. |

I don't know if he would qualify for paid leave (that would be up to his employer), but he may qualify for FMLA. He would need to contact his HR department to find out. |

If SDI is your State Disability Insurance then he would need to be disabled. If it covers his children and his child is disabled he may get time off to care for the child. He won't have any way to prove it is his child so probably can't even if it covers his children. If your husband wanted to take time off to be with the baby he would be assumed to be the babies father but not your boyfriend. Otherwise every man who knew a pregnant woman would say he needed time off. |
