I am assuming you are asking about health insurance since your question is Pregnant-Can I get health insurance. The first thing I want to tell you is stay as far away as you can from this Ameri-Plan crap people keep posting about. It is not insurance. It is a savings plan that supposedly gets Dr's and hospitals to cut their rates for members. Health insurance is regulated by each and every state in the United States unlike most of these discount plans. To answer your question. If you husband leaves his job for another job that also has a group policy your coverage should carry due to HIPPA regulations. You should be able to get COBRA, depending on the size of your husbands health insurance. Check with your healthcare provider. Cobra isn't cheap...but it is cheaper than giving birth.
COBRA Coverage

Individual and family health plans also offer the similar benefits as COBRA plans, sometimes at a more reasonable price. Make sure you compare your options before committing to one course of action.
Being Eligible for COBRA
You may only be eligible for a COBRA plan if you are currently or were recently (within 60 days of leaving the workplace) employed by a company that had more than 20 employees and offered group health insurance at the time of the qualifying event. Qualifying events are instances where group health care plans are terminated, qualifying individuals for COBRA plans. These events include:

I know that your husband has his reasons for quitting his job - and it's not our business.
Now...if he's leaving that job for another that will provide benefits - that's one thing.
If he's going to be leaving that job and going to be unemployed for a while - not have benefits -would it be possible for him to stick it out until your job benefits kick in and find out if your health benefits will cover your pregnancy?
In the mean time - follow up with the HR department at your job. They will be able to tell you how your policy deals with pregnancy. |

If you have a lapse of coverage, going from one group policy to another, of less than 63 days, you'll be fine.
I would tell DH, do NOT quit until you have the offer in place, AND there's not a wait for the new insurance. |
