Hi,if it was me I would wait then go to the doctor & pretend I did not know. Its only a little white lie.Good Luck

Don't say ANYTHING...2 weeks, that is very hard to prove.

I would wait until you are about 45 days into your insurance THEN go to the doctor.

Meanwhile, see if you can go to the health department and get prenatal vitamins, that way there isn't an insurance record of it, until you can go to the doctor...the folic acid in the prenatal vitamins is CRITICAL to your baby's health.

I had the same thing happen when I had my first baby, but the insurance covered everything.

Conception dates are subjective and easily missed...I wouldn't be concerned about that.

Under HIPAA, pregnancy is not considered a "pre-existing condition." Ask your employer's benefit department if the plan even has a pre-existing condition clause, many Group Plans have simply done away with them.

Either way, you should be safe, so take care of yourself and your baby and get to the doctor as soon as you're covered. If you wait longer because you're worried about cost or limitations of coverage, it wouldn't be worth the money saved if that delay caused medical complications or death for your baby.

Maternity, in most cases throughout the country, is not considered pre-existing. Chances are you having nothing to worry about. Discuss this with the HR person at work, or your insurance company.

The insurance company will know when you got pregnant still because of your medical records that will state the time of conception. I would call them and find out if that is considered preexisting and if it has any bearing whatsoever. It's better to have a check up right away instead of waiting and besides like I said the insurance will know anyway! It won't hurt to call the insurance just to make sure. Congrats and best wishes!
