Has anyone dealt with Primerica life Insurance Company before? I canceled my policy 2 months ago and they wont stop taking money from my account and now the bank has shut my account down due to fraud and I can't get my money out of the bank or back from Primerica.....WHAT TO DO!!!!!???????????????

the problem with all of this is that I sent a cancellation letter in September. When I called to see why it wasn't canceled in October they had the letter on file, but the account was still opened and the girl couldn't tell me why and she didn't close it, just filed for an inquiry. I called a few days later it was still open and the girl I spoke with closed it and then I got a bill for $115, then my bank acct. was clsd because they tried to get more money out. I am pissed off and not getting any answers. I called today, was on hold for 5 mins and then the phone call was transfered over to be answered and it rang for 3 mins and no one answered. My phone finally hung up on me, UUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!! |

The easiest way is to contact Primerica's customer service (1-800-257-4725).
As stated in your life policy, in order for you to cancel your life insurance policy, you need to send the request in writing and mail it to:
Primerica Life Insurance Company
3120 Breckinridge Blvd.
Duluth, Georgia 30099-0001
If you have already sent this letter couple months ago, then you should definitely contact customer service. |

Complain to the insurance commissioner in your state. I hope you got something in writing or sent them something in writing to confirm the cancellation. Once you get that part straightened out and prove that Primerica was in the wrong, the bank should correct their end. Go to your state website to find the Insurance department. In PA they have 30 days to respond. Good Luck! |

Here are some things you should do right away.
1. Contact your state Insurance Commissioner's office. Most state commissioners have staff for investigating issues just like yours.
2. Contact the state Banking Commissioners office in your state and report the same thing as the Insurance Commissioner. Even though your account may have been frozen, there must be provisions in your state to access cash on deposit.
3. Contact an attorney and spend a few minutes explaining your situation and see if the attorney can help you with letters, complaints and assistanace with the bank and Insurance Company.
4. Primerica usually sells packaged Insurance and Mutual Funds. If you checks were split with some going to an insurance policy and some to mutual funds, you can make a complaint to the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), on your representative and his/her selling organization.

Consult a lawyer. If you have proof of your cancellation then you can sue them for damages and punitive damages. More than lilkely they would settle. |

Very unfortunate and I hope you get your money back.
As a general rule, I avoid companies with patriotic sounding names. Names that have America, or USA, or use the flag. To me, that is a pretty good sign that the company is using patriotic rhetoric to make up for their lack of any other positive aspects. Call me short-sighted. That's just the skeptic in me. |
