OK, you know they cover two completely different, unrelated things, right? They don't overlap.
They'll do a cbc, check cholesterol, infectious diseases, and your blood sugar level. |

Blood samples are tested for cholesterol, triglycerides, liver enzymes, kidney function, blood sugar levels, and for males at certain ages and face amounts, a PSA test to evaluate the possibility of prostate cancer. Urine screening is for red and white blood cells, albumin, sugar, nicotine and cocaine. Urine testing can detect many medications but most insurance companies no longer pay the extra cost to run these. So....if someone lies about being a smoker, it will generally be detected anyway. Same goes for cocaine use. Cocaine can disappear from the urine test but can also be detected for quite a long period by analyzing a a hair sample. Albumin can be a sign of kidney disease but can also be caused by strenuous exercise; so refrain from exercise for 24 hours prior to the testing. Good luck! |

I do believe that they test for nicotine, illegal drug usage, diabetes and anything else that would affect your health and perhaps cause you to need the policy. This would affect the price you pay as well. |
