marco | Same insurance company but different rates? |
Is it true same insurance company but different agent offers different rates? |
|

Sort of.
Each company usually has several "tiers" of rates. Something eligible for high rates, like a youthful driver, might not be eligible for the lowest rates.
For personal insurance, like cars and houses, sometimes an agent has the authority to move you one tier in either direction. If the account has any claims, you are NOT going to get moved in a favorable direction.
For commercial insurance, the agent can negotiate the rates for larger accounts. Larger accounts are usually premiums OVER $20,000. Agents can request "IRPM" credits, usually up to 20%. They can also negotiate adding credits for a decrease in commission paid to the agency. |

Usually different rates mean different kinds of plans, or different amounts of coverage. Typically, rates are the same for identical plans with the same company, no matter who the agent is. Be sure that you are getting quotes for the same thing. |

it would depend on each agency's agreement with that particular company |

This is actually illegal. One insurance agent might be offering you rebate whihc is illegal. But its possible to get different quote. How? Well, sometimes insurance companies offer special rates for some organized groups like AARP etc. |

The short answer is no.
But, you might be using independent insurance agents to get quotes.
You may not know they are independent agents. There's a chance some of them may be adding some other fees into the equation that makes the quotes look different, although if they are different, they shouldn't be that much different.
Otherwise, you may not be getting the quote for the exact same coverage.
Some agents may be building some things into the quotes differently and thus getting you different rates. |

Same company may have different plans depending on your age/profile/riskappetite and that may be the reason for different rates... |
