OK gang, here's a doozie. We've been shopping for health insurance and are continually declined because we consume more than 12 alcohol drinks per week.(I know! Are you kidding me??) We're perfectly healthy people who have a few beers after work each day, and a few more on the weekends. Can anyone assist me in finding the right company?

www.everyonebenefits.com/s.martin they have plans starting out at 11.95 Dental,vision, chiro, and prescription,a month for an idividual and 19.95 for a household of up to 20 people. They do have other plans that are affordable that include the medical. Check out the site. |

People who drink heavily - as you are describing yourselves - have much higher than average health insurance claims. There are more stupidity accidents causing injuries, and more long term health effects from the alcohol.
Companies don't want to insure that. |

I'm guessing by the amount of alcohol you consume that your liver functions may have been elevated too. This can cause scaring in your liver, cancer, and death.
Try figuring out if reasonably priced health insurance is more important than drinking heavily. You can still drink, but usually fewer than 5 per week is a good rule of thumb. |

why do you tell them? now 12 glasses per week is 2 to 3 per night. if it is hard liquor...good luck you better start consulting a physician or check in rehab. |
