Should I or should I not?
I have been working at my current job for a little over a year. My boss is also a friend of mine that I worked with at another insurance agency, and when he got his own I followed him to work for him. Anyway I have my own office and have never had a complaint about me and have never been reprimanded for anything, and my boss comes to me and says he just hired an office manager and that I would have to give up my office and move into a shared office.I was destroyed, because not only did he not mention he was hiring anyone ,but I wanted to know why he didnt pick me? The person he hired doesnt even have the experience that I have, so i just dont get it. My question is should i say something to him or just not say anything and continue to be hurt and angry until i want to quit my job because of it?

You should say something. But, when you do, be calm, be professional and hear him out. He may not have picked you because you are so good at what you do that he didn't want to take you away from it. Ask him all your questions, listen, ask more questions. Do not let yuour emotions get involved. After you have your talk, decide what you are going to do. DO NOT yell, cry, take it personal. If you do decide to quit, you will have to decide if you still want to be friends. Just my opinion.

Ask him why he did what he did, and hear him out. It could be that this person is just perfect for the position. On the other hand, maybe you do deserve the position so just let him explain himself before you jump to any conclusions. Afterward, it's up to you whether you remain working for him or not.

You should walk right in and tell him everything. It is best to be open with your boss at all times, this will make work enjoyable.

you can't mix business and pleasure, he will always be your boss before he is your friend, get another job if you want to stay friends with him or your problem will grow into hatred.

Just ask him politely. The worst he can do is say, "None of your business." (Which I doubt he will...) And you shouldn't quit your job because of a little thing with your boss. Jobs are hard to find.

that sucks that he hired someone else he could have picked you instead since you been working there longer.. and ya thats gotta hurt when they hire someone without experience, he could have just picked you instead.. well even if you say something to him its not gonna change his mind cuz he already has hired her/him.. you should look for another job screw him...

Always stand up for your self. I guarantee you. He will respect you for it!

I think you answered your own question. :)

Say something to him. You are friends and he should respect you as a friend and as an employee. I f he won't help you out you should start up your own agency.

Politely express your concern with the way that the transaction was handled--not with the transaction itself. That is bound to trigger a conversation about his reasoning for doing what he did.

Keep in mind always that there is no right to a job. You have a right to accept a position that appeals to you, but you do not have the right to dictate the terms of your employment. Provided that the employer does not violate the law in the manner in which he deals with you, he/she is free to run the business as he/she sees fit.

Do not get yourself crazy over small issues, as you proclaim yourself to be a small person if you do. The size of an office is meaningless. Do your job, do it well, and do not hold grudges. Life is really too short to be addressed in any other way.
