Should people that dont use signals while driving pay more for insurance?

mbrcatz	Yep, around here, too. Sure, they should, and so should tailgaters, and people who talk on the phone while they drive. But it's REALLY hard to measure that BEFORE the accident, so that's why the insurance companies can't charge you until AFTER the accident. But they do.

MSAD	If they have received a moving violation for not using signals then this will show up on their driving record and most likely they will pay more. Same with speeding.

IAskUAnswer	How would the insurance companies know who does and doesn't? Sorry, unless they had some type of monitoring device this probably wouldn't work. :/ And yeah, people drive like maroons.

PLzHeLPMe	Yes they should have to pay more! It is these people who cause the majority of traffic accidents because they are driving too fast to see where they need to go or what lane "they are suppose to actually be in" until the last second" causing thousands of needlesss accidents per year.

Jim C	Any person, if asked for an insurance application would say that they use turn signals. Just like everyone says they wear their seatbelt, and always look both ways. No one's going to openly admit something that can't be proven, and will cause them to pay more money to an insurance company. So instead the cost of all the claims caused by such incidences are apread out amongst everyone. I'm not a claims adjuster, but I'm inclined to think that accidents caused by the lack of use of a turn signal are probably a relatively low percentage of the overall. But yes, if they are given a ticket for not using their turn signal, it will increase their rates.

Irv S	Yes, in the best of all possible worlds, they wouldn't be allowed to drive. Also tail-gaters, slow cruisers in the left lane, wanderers who can't hold their lanes, etc. Then the roads would be less crowded for you & me. ............But it ain't gonna happen.
